Anyone who visits Disney World during the holidays knows that the theme park did not invent Christmas cheer, it perfected it. The magical kingdom celebrates the holidays in a festive style that is nothing short of amazing. If the 60-feet-tall Christmas tree does not get you into the holiday spirit, seeing Mickey and his friends dressed in their holiday sweaters will.
Get the inside scoop on what to eat, how to make the most of the time you will spend in lines and the best way to enjoy new entertainment with the Christmas thought of giving in mind.
It is a special year
Good old Mickey Mouse marks a milestone birthday today: the big 9-0 and everybody is getting in on the celebrations. As a veritable pop culture icon, Mickey and his friends have been inspiring the fashion industry for decades. They are as loved now as they were when they first exploded on the screen. Mickey’s very merry Christmas party will be extra special this season.
Just when we thought Disney World could not be a more magical place, they have once again upped their game. Magic Kingdom’s Main Street is completely lit up at night and lined with garlands and wreaths all the way to Cinderella Castle. Many of the Disney resorts put together mesmerizing decorations as well, such as the life-size gingerbread house in the lobby of Disney Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
Special holiday desserts
Walking around Disney World burns a ton of calories so go ahead and treat yourself. In addition to all the traditional Disney food favorites, there are a number of holiday themed treats you can pick up throughout your stroll through the park. Mickey-shaped sugar cookies with red sprinkles, chocolate covered peppermint marshmallows, Mickey elf popcorn buckets and so much more. It looks like Disney has plenty of ways to celebrate, and cheers to you if you can get to Disney World to raise a glass of millennial pink champagne!
The Christmas Fantasy Parade
Of course a Christmas in Disney World is not complete without the Christmas Fantasy Parade. It is just as magical of an experience every year. Watch your favorite Disney characters accompanied by dancers and decorative floats march along the Main Street. Enjoy it at night for the ultimate holiday spirit topped with fireworks.
Magical lands, delicious treats and charitable giving? Disney World truly is the “happiest place on earth”. Through contributions, collaborations with nonprofit organizations, in-kind gifts and employee volunteerism, Disney brings positive, lasting change to communities around the world. For their efforts, Disney has won several Halo awards, which is the highest honor in America for social programs by corporations. If that does not bring you in the mood of season givings, we do not know what will…
